Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:

Store Standards

  • Conducts Store Walks with Field Manager using the Store Standards Checklist on a weekly basis.
  • Performs corrective tasks (through store employees) to ensure store standards are met.
  • Lodge reports to relevant SSC departments to ensure store standards are met as 1st level support. Escalate to FM as 2nd level support.
  • Accountable for achieving Store Standard targets at Store.

Compliance

  • Conducts daily compliance process using the Compliance Checklist.
  • Investigate all discrepancies related to cash & inventory and ensure closure is achieved. Closure is achieved when root cause of discrepancy has been identified, parties concerned have been apprehended and improved controls have been put in place.
  • Accountable for achieving Compliance targets within assigned region.
  • Performs CDU stock count.
  • Performs cashiering duties in line with Cash Handling & Loss Prevention policy.

People

  • Delegates tasks to store employees and holds them accountable in completing them.
  • Promotes career progression by communicating clear criteria for confirmation / promotion and provides support and guidance to employee development.
  • Provides corrective feedback to store employees if SOPs are not adhered to.
  • Provide recognition to employees who have displayed outstanding performance. Shares best practice with employees within fieldand peers within area.
  • Acts as role model to store employees by performing required customer service standards.
  • Conduct periodic performance conversations with direct reports. Coaches them for continuous career progression.
  • Ensure employee confirmations and/or career progression is in line with guidelines.
  • Accountable to ensure all employees complete mandatory trainings.

Commercial

  • Implement sales & profit building initiatives. Fully comprehends business initiatives, cascade instructions and enforce actions required to perform business initiatives.
  • Observes customer profile, store product assortment and performs/proposes accurate ordering.
  • Accountable for Sales & Controllable Expenses achievement within of stores by consistently reviewing P&L with Field Managers, identify root causes that contribute to sales and profit achievements and takes necessary action to sustain or improve performance.
  • Ensure minimal OOS at stores by performing accurate ordering and follows up with non-fulfilment.
  • Always abreast with local community events to identify business opportunities to increase business performance.
  • Escalates to FM in cases of non-fulfilment.
  • Ensure store compliance towards planogram.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess minimum Diploma or equivalent.
  • With or without experience.
  • Able to work in rotational shift including weekends and public holidays.

  Min. Education:  Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma
